Ever since we started having him sleep in his crib, from about 4 months on, (before that he was in a co-sleeper beside our bed) the usual routine was that after we laid him in his crib at night, he might fuss or babble a little and then fall off to sleep. He has really been great at going to bed and such a good sleeper. We are so blessed in that way!
Yesterday when I laid him down for his nap, I figured he'd follow his usual pattern. This was not the case.... Jonah did babble and talk a little after I laid him down, but then things got quiet, so I figured he was asleep. I was wrong. I went to check on him a few minutes later and this is what I found.....
Now I know for sure that we need to lower the crib mattress to the lowest setting! Jonah sure was proud of himself for this milestone! :)
Today I was able to successfully get him to fall asleep in his crib for his nap without dealing with him trying to stand up and play. I guess he was tired. I had to keep a close eye on him after I put him down for his nap though because we still hadn't lowered the mattress. This is what I found today...
Aren't those toes precious?
Jonah always has a way of making me smile.
This evening after I had given Jonah a bath and gotten him ready for bed, I sat him on the floor for a minute to go grab something before nursing him prior to putting him to bed. I noticed that he immediately started trying to pull himself to a standing position using the couch..... and he was successful! Again, he was quite proud of himself!
Its silly, but these accomplishments by my baby boy make me feel like he's not such a baby anymore. I'm sure he will be running through the apartment before I know it. I'm doing my best to savor every moment with my little (not so little anymore) bundle of joy... such as the cuddles he gives when he wakes up, the many smiles, the giggles and day to day fun. Just in case any of you were unsure.... I LOVE being a momma.
love it! lillies crib was lowered yesterday, as low as it can go!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Jonah!! I can't believe he is getting so big. Enjoy it, walking isn't so bad!
