Jonah's grip

I made it back to Strolla Momma's today after several weeks of not being able to make it for one reason or another. It was good to be back. I think I'm going to be sore tomorrow. The weather wasn't too bad today. It was cold and a little drizzly on the way there, but of course I warmed up during the class. Jonah was tucked into his 'Bundle Me', so he was nice and warm. By the time the class ended, it seemed to have warmed up some and the drizzle had totally stopped. Jonah was getting a a bit tired of being in his stroller, so I decided to let him get out and walk around a little even though it was still pretty wet out. He was very happy to be out of the stroller.

When I first let him out of the stroller he seemed a little unsure of himself--I'm guessing it was because we were somewhere unfamiliar to him. So, I took him by the hand and guided him to walk around some. After a minute or two I let go of his hand and he took a few steps around, but then he did something he's never done before, he reached back up for my hand. It was so sweet. (He ended up doing it several times as we walked around together.) As he grabbed my hand, it was as if he was tightening his grip on my heart. Not that he didn't already have a very tight grip, but just in case there was any room for his grip to tighten, he did it! :)

So, then I decided to get my phone out to take some pictures of him walking around because of course I thought he just looked so darn cute 'toddling' around. Every time I would squat down to get on his level and take a picture of him, he would come towards me and give me a hug and a kiss. I managed to get a few pictures in the process, but once again he was just tightening that grip on my heart. He's such a sweetie. So the pictures on this post are from my camera on my phone. I'm not sure how great they'll show up, but at least you'll get the idea of how cute he was in his winter coat.

  1. What cute pictures and video! Loved your comments on his grip! Little by little he's becoming more independent, yetstill needing the security of mommy's hand.

  2. Isn't it just amazing how they can just wiggle their way into your heart even further. Amazing! Even more amazing: If we can love our children this much, how much more must God love us!!!
